By using T&C Lens, you agree to these terms.

T&C Lens is an open-source tool designed to summarize and analyze legal text. It is provided "as is" and without warranty. By accessing the website, installing the extension, or using the T&C Lens AI API, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.

The summaries and analyses generated by T&C Lens are powered by artificial intelligence and are for informational purposes only.

T&C Lens does not provide legal advice. You should not rely on our summaries as a substitute for professional legal counsel. We are not liable for any damages, losses, or legal disputes arising from your reliance on the AI-generated text.

If you use the Hosted Tier, you must purchase credits to analyze documents. Credits are non-refundable after purchase and will not be refunded for any reason, including unused credits.

If you use the "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) tier, you are solely responsible for complying with the terms of service of your chosen AI provider (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) and for any costs incurred on those platforms.

You retain all rights to any text or documents you submit to the service ("Inputs"). To the extent permitted by law, we assign to you all rights, title, and interest in the generated summaries ("Outputs"). You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to process the Inputs.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, T&C Lens shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues. In no event shall our aggregate liability exceed the greater of one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

The T&C Lens source code is licensed under the MIT License. This means you are free to use, copy, modify, and distribute the code, including in your own projects, commercial or otherwise.

The single condition is credit: you must keep the original copyright notice and license text in any copy or modified version of the code. Removing that notice and redistributing the code as your own is a violation of the license.

However, the "T&C Lens" name, logos, and hosted API infrastructure remain the exclusive property of T&C Lens and are not covered by the open-source license.

To provide the Hosted Tier, the text you submit is sent to trusted third-party AI providers that generate your analysis. These providers process your submitted text under their own data protection and usage terms.

We do not send your name, email address, or account information along with the submitted text, and we do not store your document text after the analysis is returned. By using the Hosted Tier, you acknowledge and agree to this processing.

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or your use of T&C Lens shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Lagos, Nigeria, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
